Based on initial feedback from residents in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, the following Stolzman Road Park proposal and timeline have been established, and a project proposed through the City of Mankato’s Community Investment Project budget!

Stoltzman Park Planning Process and Timeline

The City of Mankato is asking for general comments and feedback on the plan until Monday, January 8, 2018, at which time the City will begin working with playground vendors on specific details.

Annual Historic Lincoln Park Home Tours!

Just a reminder to everyone that the annual Historic Home Tours is going to be from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, June 17th!

Join us for this very popular annual fundraising event for the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. Take a horse drawn wagon ride or walking tour of the Lincoln Park Neighborhood, learn about our historic architecture, visit beautiful homes and enjoy refreshments along with entertainment at Lincoln Triangle Park! (Made possible by the Lincoln Park Neighborhood Association, all proceeds benefit the neighborhood!)

Free live entertainment. For the Historic Home Tours, tickets will be available at Lincoln Park at the corner of S Broad and Lincoln Streets on the day of the event. Home tour tickets are $15 and wagon tours are $7. Hope to see you there!

Lincoln Park Neighborhood Night to Unite!

Tuesday, August 30th from 6pm to 8pm is our Annual Potluck Neighborhood Celebration! Bring a dish to share, get to know your neighbors and stay for the entertainment! Free Hot Dogs, Free Lemonade, Live Music by the Jim Jam Band and the Buddy Holly Story Band, Fire Dance by Wohpte, Games and Prizes for kids, Tours of Mankato City vehicles, Zip Zap Ice Cream and Cake Walk. Picnic tables provided, extra lawn chairs welcome. Come and have Fun!

 

By-Law Changes & Officer Elections

The next two upcoming meetings are important ones for the Lincoln Park Neighborhood Association! If you want to become more involved in your community’s leadership, these are great opportunities to do so!

Monday, March 21st, 6:30-8 pm
Bring any suggested changes you’d like to see made to the LPNA By-Laws for discussion. Proposals from this meeting will be added to the agenda of the May meeting, where they will be formally voted on by the members. A copy of the current By-Laws can be found in the “LPNA Meeting Notes” section of our website.

Monday, May 16th, 6:30-8 pm
In addition to voting on any changes to the LPNA By-Laws that were proposed during the March 21st meeting, we will also hold officer elections for the 2-year positions of Treasurer and Secretary.

Both Susan Baker and Chris Lienemann are stepping down at the end of their terms and neither is seeking re-election. If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in our neighborhood, these are great opportunities to do so! Position descriptions can be found in the LPNA By-Laws under the “LPNA Meeting Minutes” section of our website.

Save the Date! June 18th, 2016 Historic Home & Garden Tours Festival!

We are excited to announce that this year the Historic Home & Garden Tours committee is planning to expand on our annual tours to include a festival in Lincoln Park itself, with food and entertainment.

Night to Unite on Tuesday, August 25th!

Join us for the Night to Unite and Annual Potluck Party on Tuesday, August 25th from 5:30-8pm at the Lincoln Community Center! There will be free hot dogs, lemonade and root beer floats, so please come even if you don’t have a dish to share! Plenty of food, fun, entertainment, and great company for all!

Saturday, May 16th Tea on the Lawn & Flowering Bazaar at Lincoln Park

You are invited to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate with Lincoln Park neighbors on Saturday, May 16 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Historic Lincoln Park is located on the corner of South Broad and Lincoln Streets. Bring plants, gardening ideas or stories to trade, baked goods to share, and purchase bedding plants! City of Mankato still accepting applications for Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program!

Just a reminder that applications are still being accepted for the city of Mankato’s owner-occupied housing rehabilitation program! Attached is a copy of the income and loan amount restrictions, for those interested!.

Funds are provided as zero percent interest deferred loans and can be used for new siding, windows, roofs, furnaces, handicap accessibility needs and necessary interior improvements. No payments are required unless the home is sold or use of property changes within 10 years.
